The Timeless Award

The Duke of Devonshire

At this year’s annual benefit, the Royal Oak Foundation will honor the Duke of Devonshire with the 2019 Timeless Award in recognition of his contributions to the preservation of British culture and the ten-year restoration of Chatsworth.

One of the great treasure houses of Britain, Chatsworth has been home to sixteen generations of the Cavendish family. The house is renowned for its architecture, gardens and art collection.

The art collection, one of the greatest in all of Britain, spans 4,000 years from ancient Roman and Egyptian sculpture, to masterpieces by Rembrandt, Reynolds and Veronese, to work by outstanding modern artists, including Lucian Freud, Edmund de Waal and David Nash.
