An Evening with The Countess of Oxford and Asquith

Private Reception

Her Majesty’s Consul General in Chicago, Ambassador John Saville, and The Royal Oak Foundation invite you to a private evening reception at the British Consul General’s Residence to honor Clare Asquith, Countess of Oxford and Asquith, and the publication of her new book Shakespeare and the Resistance: The Earl of Southampton, the Essex Rebellion, and the Poems that Challenged Tudor Tyranny. Lady Asquith will sign her new book and give a brief presentation on her brilliant and provocative reinterpretation of Shakespeare’s largely forgotten epic poems, and the political controversy and armed rebellion they incited.
