Rob Smith will take us on a virtual stroll as we admire the domestic architecture of 19th century Islington. During the 19th Century the farmland of Barnsbury gave way to a succession of building schemes that created some of the worlds first suburbs. Each square was developed by a different landowner with a different architect, so they each have their own look. Rob will look at the people who lived in the squares – theatre critics, journalists, singers and experts in guerilla warfare!

This is a live virtual tour hosted via Zoom meeting where your guide will give an illustrated presentation of the tour route with an accompanying talk. There will be opportunities for questions and interaction after the virtual tour.
