Hertfordshire: Countryside on London’s Border
Within easy reach of bustling London lays the beautiful county of Hertfordshire. Known for its green landscapes and historical landmarks it is one of England’s smaller counties, but full of sights to see.
Join Royal Oak as Rob Smith leads us on a virtual stroll through country walks that inspired Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. We will trapse through the enchantment of bluebell woods and see old pubs cast next to ancient churches that are sure to inspire writings of your own.
Highlights of the tour will include National Trust properties such as the Edwardian villa that was once home to one of the most photographed and quoted men of the world; playwright, politician, philosopher Bernard Shaw and the Ashridge Estate, a working estate continuing a 3,000-year tradition over its expansive 5,000 acres that supports a rich variety of wildlife.
