Lower East Side

Multi-Ethnic Walking and Eating Tour

Join us for a tasty tour of the Jewish Lower East Side, Chinatown, and Little Italy combining the history of the diverse Lower East Side with food samplings from local shops & markets. We will explore the historic and gastronomic delights of these diverse immigrant neighborhoods, including America’s first urban playground, historic Orchard & Hester Streets and the Bowery, plus we’ll learn about the early British farmers of the Lower East Side. While exploring the multi-faceted ethnic history of New York we will munch on (among other items) Jewish Pickles, Dominican plantains, Malaysian beef jerky, cannoli, and fresh mozzarella. Bring your curiosity and your appetites!

Tour will be held rain or shine.

Meet At: The southeast corner of Essex & Delancey Streets, in front of the Chase Bank (109 Delancey). Please look for guide holding a “Big Onion Walking Tours” Sign. Tour will end at or near the corner of Canal & Mulberry Streets.
