Weddings: Say ‘I do’ in Style

The National Trust has castles and ruins, stately homes, towers, abbeys, pubs, movie sets, homes of former Prime Ministers, and even a dairy available for your wedding day

Getting married at any of our magical places helps to keep them available for future brides and grooms too. Our professional and experienced staff are on hand to ensure that your day goes with only the one hitch.

Where will you choose?

LONDON & SOUTH EAST

Waddesdon, Buckinghamshire

Waddesdon has three stunning wedding venues. From the French château style Manor, to the lakeside Dairy and boutique Five Arrows Hotel. All situated in beautiful National Trust maintained gardens, with the exclusive opportunity to have your wedding photos taken outside the Manor.

Stowe, Buckinghamshire

Find out more about getting married at Stowe and take a look at photography and ceremony options. Enjoy the iconic view of our landscape gardens as the backdrop for your special day.

WALES

Bodnant Garden, Conwy

If you choose the historic Pin Mill for your civil ceremony you’ll enjoy views of the Italianate terraces set against stunning mountain scenery. There are a further 80 acres of this world famous garden as the inspiration for perfect wedding photographs too.

Kymin, Monmouthshire  

The Geogian Round House once hosted famous lovers Lord Nelson and Lady Hamilton. Now an intimate venue with stunning views as far as the Brecon Beacons, this is an ideal spot for smaller weddings.

SOUTH WEST

Stourhead, Wiltshire

The Temple of Apollo, overlooking the 18th-century landscape garden, is the perfect choice for a romantic ceremony. With its graceful stonework and unparallelled views, it was once described by Horace Walpole as ‘one of the most picturesque scenes in the world’. Photographers will love the breathtaking vistas.

Dunster Castle, Somerset

Get married Dunster Castle and celebrate at one of Somerset’s oldest and most famous landmarks. Entering the parkland, through pillared, wrought-iron gates, you can your guests are greeted by the magical sight of a fairytale castle rising dramatically from the a wooded hill.

YORKSHIRE

East Riddlesden Hall, West Yorkshire

The romantic Airedale Barn, where most of the weddings take place, has all the modern touches under one roof from underfloor heating to a waterfall of fairy lights. The atmospheric barn can seat up to 160 guests, is in a setting seeped in history and is proudly looked after by National Trust. Inside the main house, the 400 year old Great Hall is perfect for intimate wedding ceremonies and can seat up to 30 guests. The warm stone walls and grand fireplace offer a perfect backdrop to take your vows.

Hardcastle Crags, West Yorkshire

The Ormesby Estate, once owned by the Pennyman family, is one of few places in Middlesbrough with acres of open space. At the heart of the estate, situated in 200 acres of countryside, lies the house and gardens, filled with charm and character – the most picture-perfect venue to marry.

NORTH EAST

Ormesby Hall, North Yorkshire

Lindisfarne Castle, Northumberland

Lindisfarne Castle, on Holy Island, clings to a rocky precipice surrounded by the North Sea, with stunning views along the Northumberland coast and beyond. This romantic castle, with its dramatic location, makes a spectacular backdrop for your special occasion.

NORTH WEST

Dunham Massey, Cheshire

A garden for all seasons, an ancient deer park and a house filled with treasures and stories

Speke Hall, Liverpool

Beyond the black & white is a Tudor house with a Victorian personality.

EAST OF ENGLAND

Grange Barn, Essex

Coggeshall Grange Barn has a history dating back eight centuries, from the time when the Abbeys were all powerful and communities paid their King’s Tax as tythes. Tythes mean ‘one tenth’ because people were supposed to give the church one tenth of all the income they earned.

Lyveden, Northamptonshire

With its rich history, Lyveden provides an unusual backdrop for marquee wedding receptions. The incomplete garden lodge of Sir Thomas Tresham overlooks fields, with a wooded backdrop in the heart of the Rockingham Forest. It’s surrounded by an Elizabethan moated garden remains and acres of wildflower meadow.

MIDLANDS

Gunby, Lincolnshire

Gunby Hall and Gardens, set on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, is the most romantic location for your special day. Built in 1700 as a home for the Massingberd family, this superb English country house is picture perfect in every way. Set amidst beautifully landscaped gardens and surrounded by stunning parkland, Gunby Hall and Gardens is available to book for wedding ceremonies and photographs throughout the year.

Tattershall Castle, Lincolnshire

Enjoy your wedding day in the idyllic setting of Tattershall Castle. Celebrate in style by holding your wedding ceremony in England’s finest brick-built medieval castle.
